CHILDREN

Understanding Spiritual Development to Maximize Impact in Children’s Ministry--Ian MacAlpine, MCMA Board, Veteran Pastor--Spiritual formation from birth through maturity will be addressed using the intellectual development theory of Jean Piaget and the spiritual development theory of James Fowler.  We will address questions like: "At what age can a child make a sincere and knowing salvation decision?"  "How can we best teach children in light of this understanding?

Helping children Understand Their Salvation DecisionsIan MacAlpine, MCMA Board, Veteran Pastor

Managing Behavioral Issues With Kids at Church--Ian MacAlpine, MCMA Chairman, Veteran Children’s Pastor--What is misbehavior, and why do children misbehave?  What are the most effective ways to deal with misbehavior?   A theory of (mis)behavior management will be presented that served the presenter well in forty-five years of ministry - years in which he never had an unresolved behavior problem and never had to exclude any children.

YOUTH

Teamwork to Do Youth Ministry in the Town & Country Church—Steve O’Dell, River’s Edge Church, Watertown--Is your church positioned to hire a full-time or even part-time youth pastor?  There is hope!  Effective youth ministry can still take place in your church!  Here is direction for fruitful youth ministry in your church!

Don’t Lose Them—Helping Your Seniors Transition To Young Adulthood—Andy Abramson, Verge Ministries--80% of seniors who are actively involved in their faith and church life will walk away between the ages of 18-22. How do we help these seniors transition from adolescence to adulthood.

OUTREACH

Understanding And Embracing Outreach As A Way of Life—Steve O’Dell, River’s Edge Church, Watertown--Is outreach something you do?  Or is outreach something you are?  Perhaps the answer is both!  How do we organically integrate outreach as a way of life?

ADULT

Ministering to the Emerging Young Adult Population—Andy Abramson, Verge Ministries--Today national statistics tell us that 4% of young adults (ages 18-30) are actively involved in church. There is a growing need to reach the “missing generation” and the church needs to respond.

Developing Spiritual Disciplines in Today’s Adults—John Hubert, Crossroads Church, Bemidji--Study of various spiritual disciplines including prayer, fasting, Bible study, and giving.  Includes Biblical justification for the disciplines and how leaders can teach and inspire adults to practice the disciplines.

Principles When Developing Care-Driven Ministries—Doug Giese, Bemidji Covenant--Have you ever come away from a church experience and felt disconnected and empty inside? This seminar will answer why and will provide insight on how to create experiences that build relationships and initiate care.

LEADERSHIP

Helping Your Leadership Board Engage in Meaningful Ministry—Mike Picconatto, Staples Alliance--Often leadership boards inherit a lot of expectations – some of them Biblical, but people’s expectations of their leadership board are not always based on Scripture.  How can we engage leaders in meaningful Biblically based ministry?

Creating an Equipping Culture in Your Church—Steve O’Dell, River’s Edge Church, Watertown--Who is going to do ministry in your church and community?  How are they going to do ministry in your church and community?  God has much to accomplish through your church!  Let’s talk!

Vision Casting for the Medium to Smaller Sized Church--Timothy Johnson, MCMA--Strategic planning and vision-casting for non-mega-churches has been seen as unnecessary by some and overblown rhetoric by others.  Come together to talk about a simple, comprehensive way of looking at Church ministry that will automatically infuse enthusiasm and purpose in your ministry without adding a single person, program, or organized ministry to what you are doing.  Come to learn how to celebrate what is!
